DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Aerospace engineer (at least 4 years university degree) or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5-8 years in aerospace industry in engineering function/role are required.
• Profound knowledge in the area of propulsion systems.
• Profound knowledge of and experience in equipment, system and software engineering
• Solid experience in the area of (military) aerospace specific development, qualification and certification processes would be a plus.
• Good planning and organisational skills.
• Good ability to interact and communicate with international subcontractors, suppliers, customers and partner companies.
• Ability to work in an international team, self-reliant and systematic, fast comprehension, stress resistance, being prepared for worldwide business travels.
• English language: negotiation level, German language: advanced level would be a plus.

Responsibilities

Development and in-service support of aircraft propulsion systems for various military aircraft programmes with focus on combat aircraft.
• Integration of propulsion systems into aircraft, i.e. specification, qualification and certification with respect to requirements, safety and reliability and according to the Airbus Defence and Space development processes.
• In-service support for the respective systems and equipment.
• Technical management of system or component manufacturers and/or suppliers during development and in-service support.
• Solving thermo- and fluid dynamical as well as mechanical engineering tasks and problems.
• Continuous monitoring of available technologies and identification of technology gaps.
• Managing interfaces to related technical departments and functions (e.g. programme management, procurement, technical publications, technology management), supporting system engineers at team level
• Cooperation and coordination with internal, external, national and international subcontractors, suppliers, customers and partner companies.
