Job Description Due to continued growth in the energy sector, we are seeking an experienced Senior Protection Engineer to join our high performing T&D team in Wellington. You will play a key role in the protection and control design of HV substations, working across the full project lifecycle within a collaborative and supportive team environment. How you’ll make a difference Deliver concept and detailed designs for protection and secondary systems on HV substation projects Develop protection philosophies and relay schemes, providing technical input to settings Provide site, construction and commissioning support, including inspections as required Assist with the preparation of proposals, scopes, and budget estimates for protection projects Provide technical input, client interface and delivery assurance across protection scopes Qualifications The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes you could still be a perfect fit for this role. The qualities that help you thrive A degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent) with 5+ years’ experience in protection and secondary design for T&D substations Strong organisation, communication and teamwork skills Self-motivated, eager to learn and keen to support others Knowledge of the New Zealand, UK and/or Australian protection and T&D industry is advantageous Site experience/experience in projects being constructed and commissioned is beneficial but not essential.
