Description

Patton State Hospital, Human Resources Department is accepting applications for at least one (1) Permanent, Full-Time Senior Psychiatric Technician (Safety) (SPT) position. The vacancy exists in Program V on Unit 21, PM shift (2:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.). The Senior Psychiatric Technician is under the administrative direction of the Unit Supervisor (Safety). Please note the schedule is subject to change based on the Hospital’s operational needs.
Program V is looking for an individual that possesses a high degree of professionalism, initiative, and independence with performing tasks. Candidates must be able to communicate in a courteous, professional, and effective manner with different departments in the hospital. Duties include but are not limited to the ability to exercise tact, good judgment, and confidentiality when dealing with staff and management; ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities. Candidates must be able to coordinate and supervise level of care staff duties in a forensic unit and must demonstrate a strong understanding and commitment to providing the best care to our patients. Applicants must demonstrate strong skills in team building, leadership, organization, communications and be able to demonstrate good knowledge of the hospital’s policies and procedures.

Working Conditions
Patton is a forensic psychiatric hospital and was established in 1890 and opened in 1893. DSH-Patton provides treatment to forensically and civilly committed patients within a secure treatment area. The hospital does not accept voluntary admissions.
