As a Senior Accountant, you will be working on both taxes and audits. You will have the opportunity to work on audits and reviews of governments, private and public companies and employee benefit plans of various sizes and industries. You will supervise, plan, and perform audits. I addition, you will be responsible for the preparation of corporate, partnership, trust and individual income tax returns. You will prepare work papers, perform tax research, analyze tax notices and draft responses, and assist in tax planning and the preparation of projections. To succeed in this role, you should have a foundational knowledge of accounting principles with a desire to build your technical knowledge and client relationship skills.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or a Bachelor’s Degree in Business with emphasis on Accounting. 3+ years experience working in public accounting
  • Relevant certification (e.g. CPA, CMA) preferred but not required
  • Experience with major accounting and tax software packages including CCH Prosystems Tax, Caseware, Sage, QuickBooks and other applicable software products is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Effective time management, strong analytical skills, and attention to detail is pertinent in a fast paced and deadline-driven environment
  • Have a knack for problem solving and bringing solutions to the table.
  • Desire to be an important member of a large team; working both collectively and independently
  • Must have a high level of respect for confidentiality
Responsibilities
  • Conduct financial statement engagements from planning to report presentation.
  • Preparation of both business and individual income tax returns and identify tax planning opportunities.
  • Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts
  • Conduct research of various accounting and tax issues
  • Must be able to work additional hours during tax season, including weeknights and weekends, with compensation.
  • Minimal Travel may be required, with mileage reimbursement
