Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW:

As a Senior purchaser, you have strong negotiating skills, you implement strategies to effectively purchase goods taking into consideration present and future requirements. You negotiate contract pricing, programs, shipping charges, and other factors that maximize the efficiencies of the purchasing department. You identify alternate options to consider for the sales and engineering team. You build relationships with key vendors; you engage in volume discount programs and assure the GAV team fully maximizes the benefits of programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Responsible for the sourcing and procurement of goods from suppliers in support
of obtaining the best overall value for the company.
· Analyze and evaluate material requirements and maintain acceptable inventory
· levels on set items.
· Responsibilities include sourcing and evaluating new suppliers for goods as well
as securing material from new and existing suppliers for maximum cost efficiency
while working closely with all departments to ensure company standards.
· Track, monitor and maintain purchase order schedules and ETA’s. Arrange
inventory deliveries in support of date requirements.
· Monitoring and updating vendor records and inventory items; process and
· communicate price changes as applicable.
· Resolve invoice discrepancies with internal and external parties in a timely
· manner.
· Forecast demand and determine best ordering strategies.
· Maintain strong internal and external relationships.
· Identify and implement continuous improvements.
· Additional Tasks:
· Other tasks as assigned by Manager
· Occasional travel
· Attend required industry trade shows or training as management requires
Other duties include submission and monitoring purchase orders, pro-actively tracking shipments, providing ETA’s, market research, competitor analysis, and creating reports for the management team. It is your responsibility to respond to purchasing and ETA queries on a day-to-day basis. Ensure purchase orders are appropriately submitted with correct bid pricing. Strong attention to detail required.
