SUMMARY

As a member of the Technology Services Team, the Software Engineer, Senior will participate in the design and development of sophisticated data management systems, data science driven analytics, algorithmic trade platforms and customer facing web/mobile products. This person will implement these processes, setup related AWS infrastructure and maintain smooth operations by monitoring and troubleshooting the processes in close coordination with onsite and offshore teammates.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of solid hands-on software development experience, including system installation and production support
  • Deep knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, CloudFormation, etc.) with hands-on experience in architecting cloud solutions
  • Must have strong experience in Python, React JS, Java, SQL, AWS Redshift, PostgreSQL with focus on back-end and middle tier development
  • Must have CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes/ECS/EKS) hands on experience. AWS Developer Certified is strongly preferred
  • Must have hands on experience on AWS EMR, AWS Glue, Spark/Scala, Airflow, Time series databases, Data Lakes, AWS Spectrum and Elastic Search
  • Understanding of cloud security best practices, data protection, and compliance requirements.
  • Must be quick to learn and implement new technology stacks as needed
  • Must be quick to jump into issues and rapidly resolve those with minimal guidance
  • Prior experience in financial industry/quantitative technical analysis will be a plus

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop Systems including operational requirements and infrastructure setup in an Agile software development paradigm
  • Quickly learn new technologies and produce proof of concepts, specially using AWS, Big Data and Open-Source technologies.
  • Work on high priority production support issues, troubleshoot and formulate solutions for those issues in a time sensitive manner.
  • Develop processes to make Operations more manageable and robust, including code refactoring and tuning performance.
  • Analyze existing systems and create technical documentation.
