Title: Senior QA Automation Engineer – Cypress

Location: Mississauga, Ontario (Hybrid)

Mandatory Skill: Cypress

Qualifications

• Minimum 7-10 years of relevant experience in testing
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as a functional tester
• Experience in designing and implementing automation test frameworks test scripting test suite execution and test reporting Experience in Selenium Java , Cypress automation framework JavaScript is a key expectation for this role
• Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
• Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively across product lines and department boundaries to enable functional testing and work closely with the engineering team to build out tooling and automation
• Deeply understand test methodologies such as agile functional integration and regression testing
• Manage and run the QA cycle as part of the agile development cycle and work towards taking the sprints to closure
• Work closely with the product management team to help with UAT cycles and regression test applications as necessary
• Build reliable automated test suites that run as part of the project CI andor nightly build system
• Have a basic understanding of automation testing and performance testing
• Be disciplined with an eye for detail and have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Triage efficiently prioritizing issues by the highest impact and scope and know how to get the right bugs fixed
• Be comfortable in a collaborative agile and distributed development environment

Senior Position Responsibilities

• Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes
• Operate with a limited level of direct supervision
• Take ownership of tasks assigned and report to senior management appropriately at regular agreed intervals

Technology Skills

• Maintain and enhance manual and automated test suites as the product matures
• Have extensive experience with automation tools like Selenium or Cypress and BDD frameworks such as Cucumber
• Foster a spirit of innovation and collaboration regarding Quality Assurance
• Collaborate and partner closely with program managers development leads test leads and production support teams to ensure that software is tested to the highest quality
• Explore test and configure not just technical flows but actual business transactions and provide deep insights
• Have knowledge of SDLC and QA methodologies quality processes and defect tracking systems including change management
• Drive and promote a quality culture within and outside QE
