Description
Overview Permanent, full-time, hybrid Connecting clients to markets – and talent to opportunity. With 5,400+ employees and over 80,000 institutional, commercial, and payments clients, we operate from more than 80 offices spread across six continents. As a Fortune 100, Nasdaq-listed provider, we connect clients to the global markets – focusing on innovation, human connection, and providing world-class products and services to all types of investors. Whether you want to forge a career connecting our retail clients to potential trading opportunities, or ingrain yourself in the world of institutional investing, StoneX Group is made up of four business segments that offer endless potential for progression and growth. Business Segment Overview: A Swift-accredited service bureau and member, our Payments division provides NGOs, institutions and non-profits the ability to make a local difference, globally – with transparent pricing across 180+ countries and 140+ currencies. Responsibilities Position Purpose: We are seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to lead automation architecture and elevate quality engineering practices across Global Payments. This role combines: Advanced test automation design (UI, API, performance, security) Ownership of end-to-end UAT cycles Cross-team influence on quality standards Structured adoption of agentic (AI-augmented) testing workflows You will act as a senior technical authority in quality engineering — ensuring our systems are secure, scalable, compliant, and operationally ready for real-world payment workflows. This is not a pure execution role. It is a strategic quality engineering position influencing multiple squads without direct people management. Key Responsibilities will include: 1. Automation Architecture & Technical Leadership Design, evolve, and maintain scalable automation frameworks across: Frontend (Playwright, Cypress) Backend & APIs (xUnit, REST automation) Performance testing (NBomber or equivalent) Define automation strategy aligned to system architecture and business risk. Ensure robust CI/CD integration (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions). Improve test reliability, speed, maintainability, and observability. Partner with engineering teams to improve system testability through better design patterns and instrumentation. Lead non-functional testing initiatives including performance, resilience, and reliability. You are expected to influence automation standards across teams — not just maintain scripts. 2. Agentic Quality Engineering (Cross-Team Enablement) A core differentiator is structured adoption of AI-augmented testing practices. Act as an advanced practitioner of AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Copilot Workspace, or equivalent) for: Automated test generation (unit, integration, UI) Refactoring brittle test suites Generating UAT scenarios from requirements Improving documentation and test coverage analysis Identifying automation gaps and risk areas Establish safe review processes for AI-generated test artifacts. Improve “agent-readiness” of the test ecosystem by: Standardizing naming conventions and structure Increasing deterministic test design Reducing flaky and non-isolated tests Strengthening coverage and traceability Partner with T4/T5 engineering leadership to align automation strategy with broader agentic development standards. Educate engineers and QA team members on responsible AI-assisted test creation. Your focus is systemic quality uplift — not ad hoc AI usage. 3. UAT Ownership & Business Workflow Validation Plan, coordinate, and execute UAT cycles for major releases across Global Payments. Translate business requirements into structured UAT scenarios. Partner with Product, Operations, and stakeholders to validate real-world workflows (e.g., settlements, reconciliations, cross-border flows). Deliver clear UAT reporting and risk assessments to leadership. Ensure issues are logged, tracked, prioritized, and resolved efficiently. You act as the bridge between engineering rigor and operational reality. 4. Secure & Risk-Based Testing Implement secure testing practices in collaboration with SecOps: SAST, DAST, dependency scanning Vulnerability validation Promote risk-based testing strategies appropriate for regulated financial systems. Ensure auditability and compliance traceability where required. 5. Technical Influence Without Direct Management Serve as the senior technical authority in automation within your domain. Conduct framework reviews and automation code reviews. Mentor SDETs and developers on building testable systems. Facilitate discussions on quality standards and non-functional requirements. Drive continuous improvement of tooling, processes, and metrics. Qualifications To land this role you will need: Core Quality Engineering 5+ years in test automation and/or UAT, ideally in financial services (FX, payments, cross-border). Strong coding skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, or C#. Hands-on experience with automation frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium). Experience designing API and backend automation strategies. Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines. Solid understanding of performance and resilience testing. Agentic Development & Testing Capabilities Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools to generate and improve test coverage. Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated test code for determinism, reliability, and maintainability. Understanding of how system architecture impacts automation effectiveness. Experience using AI tools to accelerate UAT preparation and regression coverage. Pragmatic mindset balancing acceleration with risk mitigation and compliance. Domain & Security Knowledge Familiarity with secure testing practices (SonarQube, Snyk, Checkmarx, Trivy). Background in financial operations workflows (settlements, reconciliations, SWIFT, ISO 20022 a plus). Strong understanding of risk-based testing in regulated environments. Collaboration & Communication Excellent communicator able to work across engineering and business stakeholders. Comfortable influencing technical direction without formal authority. Strong documentation and reporting skills. Experience working in Agile, cross-functional teams. Working environment: Hybrid 4-days in office with private parking for employees. #LI-Hybrid #LI-DK1
