Description
As a QA Engineer (4–7 years), you will be a key member of our QA team responsible for ensuring high quality releases across our microservices-based product. You will own API testing (manual + automation), strengthen our automation frameworks, and support our migration from Selenium to Playwright. You will also contribute to performance testing, and help with cloud-native debugging when needed. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science / IT or related discipline. 4–7 years of experience in software testing, with strong ownership of QA deliverables. Hands-on experience testing microservices-based systems. Core Technical Skills: API Testing (Must Have) Strong experience in manual API testing using Postman Hands-on with Postman Collections (environments, variables, assertions, chaining, reusable collections) API automation using Rest Assured (Java) Solid understanding of REST, request/response validation, status codes, headers, payloads Familiarity with authentication patterns (OAuth2 / JWT preferred) Automation Frameworks (Must Have) Strong experience creating or enhancing QA automation frameworks using Selenium + Java Good understanding of framework components: Test structure and design (POM / reusable utilities) Reporting integration Test data handling CI-friendly execution and stability improvements Playwright (Must Have / Strong Plus) Hands-on experience with Playwright (Java or TypeScript) Ability to support and accelerate migration from Selenium to Playwright Understanding of Playwright best practices (reliable locators, waits, parallel runs) CI/CD & Execution (Must Have) Strong experience using Jenkins for: Automation build creation Scheduled runs (nightly/regression) Pipeline-based execution and result publishing Microservices & Cloud (Must Have) Understanding of microservices architecture and testing strategy for distributed systems Working knowledge of AWS basics (environments, logs, deployments, service dependencies) Contract Testing (Good to Have / Strong Plus) Experience with contract testing using Pact Understanding of provider-consumer contracts and how to integrate them into pipelines Database Validation (Good to Have) Basic SQL skills for validation: Writing queries for test verification Data checks for backend flows Test Reporting (Good to Have) Experience with test reporting tools such as Allure or Extent Reports Ability to publish readable reports from CI runs and highlight failures clearly Debugging & Observability (Good to Have) Debugging skills using: Grafana dashboards (metrics, error trends) Docker basics (containers, logs, simple commands) AWS CloudWatch logs/metrics Performance Testing (Strong Plus / Preferred) Experience running performance tests using JMeter Ability to interpret results and report bottlenecks clearly (throughput, latency, errors) Key Responsibilities: Design and execute API test scenarios (functional, negative, edge cases). Build and maintain API automation suites using Rest Assured, aligned with CI pipelines. Create and maintain Postman collections for regression and release validation. Enhance and maintain UI automation frameworks (Selenium + Java) and support Playwright migration. Implement and maintain stable Jenkins pipelines for: Scheduled automation execution Regression runs Result publishing and reporting Contribute to contract testing using Pact to reduce integration surprises. Perform basic SQL validations to confirm backend data correctness. Publish clear automation results using Allure/Extent, with actionable failure insights. Support QA strategy for microservices, including service integration validation and dependency handling. Partner with Dev/DevOps to debug issues using logs/metrics (Grafana/CloudWatch when applicable). Execute performance testing using JMeter, document results, and raise performance risks early. Create high-quality defect reports with clear reproduction steps, evidence, and impact. Soft Skills: Strong written and verbal communication with a clear, structured approach. High ownership: can take a feature end-to-end and drive quality outcomes. Good collaboration across QA, Dev, Product, and DevOps teams.
