Senior QA Engineer
We’re looking for a methodical and quality-driven PHP QA Engineer to help us deliver high standards across our Laravel-based platform. You’ll join a small, focused team working in a modern development environment—contributing to both automated and manual testing efforts across a range of business-critical features and services.
This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in catching the edge cases, thrives on improving test coverage, and understands how solid QA contributes to a stable product and faster delivery. You’ll be expected to help shape and maintain test suites, support continuous integration, and work closely with developers and DevOps to ensure a consistent and reliable release process.
We’re looking for someone who can bring structure and confidence to our QA efforts, but who’s also flexible and collaborative in a fast-moving environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute both manual and automated test strategies across backend, frontend, API, and job queues.
• Review and refine existing tests, addressing gaps or incomplete scenarios.
• Ensure test environments are dependable and data-handling is consistent.
• Extend automated suites to cover key functionality and edge cases.
• Evolve existing CI processes to incorporate comprehensive testing and quality checks.
• Develop and troubleshoot automation scripts to improve test reliability.
• Maintain an ongoing log of technical risks or areas needing attention, collaborating on resolutions.
• Support less experienced QA team members in adopting best testing practices.
• Champion consistency in development and deployment environments.

Essential Requirements and Skills

• Strong grounding in manual and automated testing practices across both backend and frontend systems.
• Practical experience working with modern PHP frameworks, ideally within a structured test suite environment.
• Good understanding of CI/CD workflows, with confidence operating in environments where quality gates are enforced automatically.
• Familiarity with database validation techniques and using test data effectively to simulate real-world scenarios.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to work independently and surface risks early.
• Excellent communication skills, with a focus on clear documentation and constructive collaboration across functions.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, Agile environments and adapting test approaches to evolving priorities.

Pay: £50,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
