OVERVIEW

The Government of Ontario is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Specialist to support initiatives aligned with the Bill 5 – Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act 2025. The successful candidate will contribute to large-scale testing efforts for both GUI and non-GUI environments, with a strong focus on Salesforce Public Sector Foundation projects, ensuring compliance with Ontario’s digital service standards and accessibility requirements.

MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Salesforce Public Sector Foundation (License and Permit) testing experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with Salesforce, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, and Miro boards.
  • Knowledge of Ontario Digital Service Standard, Ontario Service Design Playbook, and Digital First Assessment delivery approach (Pre-Discovery, Discovery, Alpha, Beta, Live).
  • Proven experience developing test scripts and user stories.
  • Experience testing prototypes and conducting usability testing.
  • Demonstrated experience in iterative analysis and testing.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design.
  • Experience conducting UAT, AODA compliance testing, and vulnerability testing.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate a QA/testing team.

GENERAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • QA analysis experience, including test case and scenario development.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute manual and iterative testing in Salesforce environments.
  • Knowledge of structured methodologies for application development, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Experience with CASE tools, data query tools, automated test tools, and version control systems.
  • Proficient in functional, non-functional, integration, regression, load, performance, and accessibility testing.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Team-oriented with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.

DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • Knowledge of at least one programming language.
  • Experience with information retrieval packages.
  • Understanding of object-oriented testing methods.
  • Knowledge of Information Management principles and policies.
  • Familiarity with AODA regulations and accessibility standards.
  • Public sector or government work experience.

Responsibilities
  • Advise on testing strategies, tools selection, and resource planning.
  • Plan, organize, and execute system integration, specialized, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for large systems.
  • Develop detailed test plans, test scripts, test cases, and test data for multiple testing phases (functional, non-functional, unit, integration, performance, regression, load, accessibility, vulnerability).
  • Execute manual testing in Salesforce UI and backend environments, documenting defects and tracking resolutions.
  • Collaborate with IT leads, project teams, and stakeholders throughout the SDLC for analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Lead and coordinate testing teams, supporting iterative and agile testing cycles.
  • Conduct AODA compliance testing using tools such as JAWS and NVDA.
  • Participate in usability testing and prototype validation, ensuring user-centered design principles are applied.
  • Support knowledge transfer activities by providing comprehensive documentation and artifacts to ministry repositories.
