Description

This position applies intensive and diversified knowledge of Quality principles and practices to a broad range of project assignments. This role plans and executes a wide variety of technical and administrative assignments and effectively interacts with others.

  • Communicate effectively with department and project personnel regarding Quality policies and procedures
  • Support in the development of, discipline activity plans for the Quality function, inspection planning, and evaluation of non-conformance action items.
  • Assist (if directed by senior Quality management) the Project Manager in developing an orientation program to ensure that the project teams are familiar with the requirements of the Project Quality Plan; including other Quality matters, if required
  • May support and act as a Quality auditor with follow up responsibility on audit findings and corrective actions.
  • Assess (if directed by senior Quality management) the ability of the suppliers to meet the Quality requirements of the project as specified in the Purchase Order or Contract.
  • Assist in the transmittal of project Quality records and maintenance of those records prior to transmittal to Document Control for all phases of the project
  • Other duties as assigned

BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and seven (7) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to eleven (11) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines

OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Nuclear construction required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Q clearance if required
  • Civil/Underground nuclear construction inspection experience
  • Coatings experience/NACE certification
  • Ability to develop and train inspection personnel in NACE requirements
  • Ability to provide proof of US Citizenship Required
  • Previous certification as a Level II Civil Inspector of concrete and soils in accordance with the requirements of ANSI N45.2.6 or ASME NQA-1-2019

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering/technical preferred
  • Advanced degree in engineering discipline/technical field, or administration area preferred
  • Professional engineering registration preferred
  • Auditor certification by outside agency (e.g., Registrar Accreditation Board (RAB), American Society for Quality (ASQ), International Quality Associates (IQA), etc.) preferred
  • Level II Qualification/Certification in accordance with ANSI N45.2.6 or ASME NQA-1-2019 in multiple inspection disciplines i.e., welding, coatings, electrical, etc.
  • Experience in the Quality Assurance Audit process.
  • Five (5) years of related Quality/project experience
  • Moderate interpersonal and communication skills
  • Moderate leadership and decision-making skills
  • Ability to instruct less experienced inspectors
