Job Description: Acron Aviation is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Environmental Qualification Testing Engineer with expertise in aviation systems to lead and support environmental qualification efforts of new and updated aviation display products. This role is critical in ensuring product compliance with applicable environmental, regulatory, and industry standards such as RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810, and others. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of test planning, execution, and documentation within a regulated aerospace environment. Essential Functions: · Plan, execute, and manage environmental qualification testing, including temperature, altitude, vibration, shock, humidity, EMI/EMC, and others. · Develop and maintain Environmental Qualification Test Plans and Procedures aligned with RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810, and customer requirements. · Interface with hardware design engineers, systems engineers, and certification teams to ensure accurate test coverage and technical compliance. · Interact with customer technical experts to determine requirements for an appropriate level of testing, Qualification by Similarity justification, and compliance with industry best practices · Coordinate test setup, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems in in-house or external accredited test labs. · Analyze and interpret test results, troubleshoot anomalies, and provide detailed technical reports with pass/fail assessments. · Participate in design reviews and support root cause analysis for test failures. · Develop qualification test reports for customer and certification authority submittal. · Support customer and regulatory audits related to environmental testing activities. · Mentor junior engineers to build expertise within the organization. · Ability to travel to outside labs. Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. · 7+ years of experience in environmental test planning and execution in the aerospace or defense industry. · Strong working knowledge of RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810, or equivalent environmental qualification standards. · Hands-on experience with environmental chambers, vibration tables, EMI test setups, and related instrumentation. · Ability to work independently and in a cross-functional team environment. · Ability to work onsite at Acron Aviation’s Grand Rapids, Michigan facility. · Ability to travel to 3rd party test facilities during the execution of testing. · Experience using IBM Engineering Requirements DOORS
