Description

About the job

IntroAre you looking for a new position as a QA Engineer and are you the one who takes test automation and AI to the next level? Then this vacancy in the Eindhoven region could be something for you!

The CompanyThis organization was started 20 years ago by a 16-year-old in (yes) an attic room and has now grown into an organization with an office in Portugal and a team of 25 people in the Netherlands who serve almost all of SMEs in the Netherlands. They serve tens of thousands of entrepreneurs and 1,000 accountants and administration offices.What started as solving a simple problem has now grown into a SaaS product that many entrepreneurs depend on and they have recently become part of one of the largest accounting packages in Europe. Not bad if I say so myself.Unlike most companies, their growth has been steady in recent years. Just a little bit at a time, because it was a conscious choice to keep it small. But thanks to AI, development is now a lot faster than before. Every day, 30 to 40 tickets come in that need to be tested and QA is therefore becoming a bottleneck. So it's time for a senior QA Engineer who will take the quality of the product to the next level here in the Netherlands.

  • What you're going to doYou will become the first QA Engineer in the Netherlands and will be part of the development lead's team, together with 4 developers in the Netherlands and 5 in Portugal. There are two experienced QA Engineers in Portugal who have been working on the product for years, but still do a lot of manual testing. It is up to you to work with them to take QA from manual to automated and AI-driven. You do this in the following ways:Monitoring the quality of the product: does it work as it should and does it work well for the customer;
  • Work closely with the Product Owner to determine what needs to be tested and when something is "finished";
  • Setting up and expanding test automation, so that the daily flow of tickets no longer needs to be tested manually;
  • Using AI and tooling to make the testing process faster and smarter. The team already uses Claude Code for writing Playwright tests, but there is much more there;
  • Coaching and taking the two QA colleagues in Portugal to a new way of working;
  • Think proactively about processes, test strategy and tooling and introduce new solutions;
  • Ensuring that QA is no longer a bottleneck but rather contributes to the speed of the team.

  • What you can doHBO working and thinking level, preferably in the direction of Computer Science (diploma is not a must);
  • At least 5 years of experience as a QA Engineer, Test Automation Engineer or in a similar role;
  • Extensive experience with test automation. It doesn't matter which tools, as long as you know what is there and what works (think Playwright, Cypress, Selenium or similar);
  • Experience with testing in a CI/CD environment;
  • Experience with AI in your testing work is a big plus;
  • You think from the customer and the product and not just from the technology;
  • You enjoy bringing others along, coaching and taking a team to a higher level;
  • A proactive attitude and the drive to continuously improve QA;
  • You speak intelligible Dutch. It doesn't have to be perfect, but you come to a Dutch office where you have lunch and chat together.

  • What you get:A salary between €4,800 - €6,200 gross per month (depending on knowledge and experience) based on: 40 hours (full-time);
  • 28 vacation days (full-time employment);
  • Challenging work in a rapidly changing environment where AI is really used;
  • Work trips to Portugal (always fun);
  • An attractive pension scheme.

  • Simply well arranged with an above-average salary and vacation days!Are you interested in this position? Please apply directly or email/call: a.janssen@haystackpeople.nl / +31682099493
