EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent knowledge of the structure and function of Linux-based systems
  • Excellent knowledge of Linux and/or Microsoft Windows operating systems
  • Excellent knowledge in the network topology
  • Excellent knowledge of hardware topics and technologies
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies and terminal server products from Microsoft, Citrix and VMware (required)
  • Excellent knowledge of virtualization technologies and terminal server products from Microsoft, Citrix and VMware (optional) or excellent knowledge in another main area (e.g. hardware specialist)
  • Experience with complex tasks with many factors, some of which are difficult to determine
  • Experience with complex contexts and working out content independently
  • Training as an IT specialist with relevant professional experience
  • Minimum of 5 years professional experienceWorking under minimal supervision

Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

As part of the Quality Assurance department, you ensure the defined functionality and high stability of our IGEL products and services that our partners and customers can expect. In this context, the execution of manual tests is mandatory to ensure that the products and services meet the requirements.
Our Quality Assurance Engineers (m/f/d) accompany the entire release process up to the release of the products or services and are responsible for the design and execution of test procedures, the documentation of the test procedures performed, the reporting of errors and the maintenance of test environments. Close cooperation with the development department is also essential.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and maintain detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test cases and test plans
  • Plan, create and manage the overall Quality Planning strategy
  • Track the life cycle of errors
  • Maintain the test documentation
  • Participate in planning and sync meetings (optional)
  • Create training documents
  • Conduct internal trainings
  • Handle the training and supervision of external employees
  • Act as contact person for product questions
  • Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
  • Investigate product quality in order to make improvements to achieve better customer satisfaction
  • Perform smoke tests with live systems (optional)
  • Experience working in an Agile development process
  • Be part of a team as a high performer and act as a multiplier
  • Familiarize yourself with new topics and to design and implement new solutions as part of a teamProject responsibility on a regular basis
