This role is responsible for performing detailed loan file reviews on 1st and 2nd mortgage products, ensuring compliance with company policies, investor requirements, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate has deep mortgage knowledge, exceptional analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy and integrity. Responsibilities Perform detailed pre-close and post-close QC audits on 1st and 2nd mortgage files, including non-QM, to evaluate compliance with agency, investor, regulatory, and company underwriting guidelines. Review credit, income, assets, collateral, title, fraud tools, and all supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy. Identify discrepancies, missing documentation, eligibility issues, and guideline exceptions. Validate AUS findings and ensure adherence to DU/LP guidelines (or other automated underwriting systems). Identify defects, trends, and risk areas; provide clear, detailed audit findings and communicate results to internal SpringEQ teams, including Underwriting, Operations, and Credit Policy & Compliance. Ensure all audits meet internal QC timelines and reporting requirements. Stay current on industry regulations, investor updates, federal/state compliance rules, and underwriting changes. Participate in internal quality improvement initiatives as assigned. Work closely with manufacturing team to resolve outstanding audits in a timely manner Qualifications Required Skills/Abilities: In-depth knowledge of mortgage products, services, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., RESPA, TILA, TRID, HMDA, CFPB). In-Depth knowledge of Non-QM lending requirements Experience with quality control software and auditing tools, as well as document management systems. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to review complex loan files and identify issues or discrepancies. Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with senior management, team members, auditors, and regulatory bodies. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 3+ years of experience in mortgage quality control, mortgage underwriting, or a similar role Healthy work-life balance.
