Description Position Summary Reporting to the QC & Engineering Manager, the Senior Quality Control (QC) serves as a pivotal leader within our contract job shop environment, specializing in sheet metal fabrication. This senior role is responsible not only for meticulous inspection and documentation—including oversight of PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and ISIR (Initial Sample Inspection Report) requirements—but also for driving a culture of continuous improvement across quality systems and production processes. In addition to performing all core QC duties, the Senior QC is expected to be a proactive change agent, advocating for process enhancements and inspiring team members to speak up and initiate positive change. This role encourages open communication and collaboration to identify inefficiencies, recommend actionable improvements, and champion the adoption of best practices throughout the organization. KSP is the parent company to Jensen Metal Products, Jensen Powder Finishers, Real Flame and Jensen Castings. Key Responsibilities Lead and perform the preparation, review, and submission of PPAP and ISIR documentation for contract sheet metal jobs, ensuring all deliverables exceed customer and regulatory requirements Audit welds and fabricated parts, validating adherence to specifications, tolerances, and quality standards Mentor and train junior QC personnel, fostering a team oriented toward continuous learning and process excellence Champion continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process optimization and cost savings Act as a change agent—proactively propose, communicate, and help implement new or improved quality procedures; encourage others to voice insights, observations, and concerns to enhance workflow and product quality Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes, especially as they relate to PPAP/ISIR non-conformances or customer feedback Represent QC in cross-functional teams, bringing a solutions-oriented approach to meetings with production, engineering, and management Support customer and third-party audits, ensuring all quality documentation, including PFMEA, Control Plans, and Process Flow Diagrams, is accurate and up to date Maintain and improve systems for documentation, traceability, and reporting in compliance with ISO standards and specific contract customer requirements Requirements High school diploma or GED equivalent required; technical degree or relevant certifications in quality/manufacturing preferred Minimum 5 years' experience in an ISO-certified contract job shop, with advanced expertise in sheet metal fabrication and quality systems; Laser, Press Brake, Mig & Tig Welding, Powder Coating, Customer Interfacing, CAR’s, Audits , ISO 9001 Valid Driver’s License Experience working in a contract manufacturing setting Extensive working knowledge of PPAP and ISIR processes, including documentation, review, and direct interaction with contract customers Proficiency with advanced inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, CMMs), and a strong command of GD&T and blueprint interpretation Demonstrated experience in leading quality improvement programs and successfully implementing process changes Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proven ability to mentor and influence cross-functional teams Self-motivated, detail-oriented, adaptable, and passionate about driving positive change for organizational success Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, with required flexibility to support 2nd shift and occasional weekends as needed Work Environment & Expectations Actively promote a safety-first culture and full compliance with all safety protocols Support a collaborative, respectful environment where every employee feels empowered to contribute ideas for improvement Lead by example in ethical conduct, teamwork, and pursuit of operational excellence Physical Demands Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms, hands, fingers, legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, handling of materials, and operating machinery Perform repetitive motions using your hands and fingers such as, but not limited to, grasping, gripping, and holding Carrying & lifting up to 50lbs. frequently Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus Benefits Medical Insurance: Health, Dental and Vision plans are available Health Reimbursement: We provide a generous health reimbursement when you reach your out-of-pocket health insurance deductible 401(k) Matching: Company matches for participating employees up to 4% Holidays and Paid Time Off: We offer paid holidays and generous paid time off to support work-life balance Insurance Options: Disability and Life insurance options available Safety PPE Allowance: For safety footwear and prescription safety glasses Weekly Pay: Enjoy the convenience of receiving your pay on a weekly basis Profit Sharing: Available for eligible employees Team Events: We celebrate our employees dedication through social gatherings Employee Recognition: We celebrate and acknowledge the hard work and achievements of our team members Training and Development: We offer opportunities for continuous learning and professional growth
