Join our Trebor team as a Senior Quality Engineer and ensure all aspects of quality for the Business Line and is instrumental in the success of the business by providing guidance and continuous improvement of our quality systems. The Senior Quality Engineer ensures our suppliers consistently deliver high quality products and services, inspects all outgoing parts making sure they meet our company standard, and interfaces with technical support when a customer has a complaint and works to resolve to root cause. Working closely with Suppliers, Engineering, Operations and Technical Support the Senior Quality Engineer establishes and maintains effective quality control processes, perform audits, and drive continuous improvement for the Business Line. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in quality engineering, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to collaborate with cross functional teams.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of quality engineering principles, practices, and methodologies, such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and SPC.
  • Experience in conducting supplier audits and working with suppliers to improve their quality systems and processes.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and identify root causes of quality issues.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross functional teams and external suppliers.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
  • Professional certifications, such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP), or Certified Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB), are desirable.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the effort to develop and improve a quality system that maintains our ISO certification, participate in quality and manufacturing audits (customers, suppliers, ISO 9001).
  • Daily upkeep of the quality management system reporting out to SLT on issues and correction actions.
  • Development of key quality processes and procedures required for scale as the business grows.
  • Deliver an inspection and audit plan with statistical analysis (SPC) to support end of line inspection reduction and build quality into all processes.
  • Support and promote continuous improvement activities with a specific focus on daily problem solving and Kaizen (RIE) events.
  • Lead and continue developing total customer satisfaction by engaging and empowering all and facilitating events using lean tools.
  • Establish and maintain effective supplier quality control processes and systems, ensuring that suppliers meet or exceed quality standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing and supplier management teams to select, qualify, and evaluate suppliers based on their ability to consistently deliver high-quality products and services.
  • Own tracking of key performance indicators, such as Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ), and utilize pareto methodology to drive key improvement actions.
  • Identify through outgoing inspection and daily Gemba walks workmanship issues which compromise our products quality, working with the Operations team to understand root cause and make consistent quarter over quarter improvement.
  • Work with the Engineering Team to review customer complaints, finding root cause and fixing design issues, keeping on hand a working pareto of all customer issues.
  • Provide training as required to hold the teams accountable and compliant to standards.
