Description

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor with substation project experience, you will play a key role in supporting the commercial delivery of high-voltage (HV) infrastructure projects based out of Glasgow.
This includes substations, switchgear installations, and cabling works. You’ll take ownership of cost control, contract administration, valuations, and overall financial management, ensuring that projects are delivered in the most cost-effective way

SENIOR QS SKILLS:

  • Degree in Construction Economics / Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor on projects with an electrical scope exceeding £7M.
  • Background in electrical, instrumentation, or engineering disciplines is an advantage but not essential.
  • Strong knowledge of contract conditions and their application.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel with exceptional record-keeping and administration abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and deliver accurate outputs under pressure.
  • Comprehensive understanding of contract obligations and the formulation of interim and final claims.
  • Ability to ensure claims capture all relevant work, including dayworks, unit rate, and contract work.
  • Commercial awareness to identify labour and material escalations and apply them appropriately.
  • A motivated professional who sets the standard in dedication, accuracy, and leadership.
