SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Location: North West (Hybrid)
Sector: Infrastructure - Power
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our growing Infrastructure team here at Walker Sime. You’ll be supporting the successful delivery of a broad range of medium to large-scale infrastructure projects across the North West, with a focus on electricity distribution. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a supportive, forward-thinking team, taking a leading role on key schemes involving cabling, substations, and overhead works—providing full commercial oversight and acting as a trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • CONTRACT MANAGEMENT:Leading on the administration of NEC contracts (Options A, C, E and Professional Services), ensuring compliance and commercial governance across multiple concurrent projects.
  • PRE-CONTRACT & PROCUREMENT SUPPORT:Advising on appropriate contract strategies, managing the tender process, producing cost plans and pre-tender estimates, and delivering clear, evidence-based recommendation reports.
  • COMMERCIAL REPORTING:Producing and maintaining detailed commercial reports that empower the client to make informed, data-driven decisions across their portfolio.
  • RISK & OPPORTUNITY MANAGEMENT:Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities, supporting the project team to deliver value while maintaining programme and cost certainty.
  • SECTOR EXPERTISE:Applying your knowledge of electricity distribution infrastructure, with practical experience in delivering commercial services for projects involving cabling, substations, and overhead lines. A solid understanding of the associated construction methodologies and technologies is essential.
