Motion scot is a family run groundwork and utility company based in Larkhall. We are a dynamic and rapidly growing SME that specialise in both planned and reactive utility work across Scotland within the Scottish Power frameworks. We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor, who is familiar in working within the utility sector.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare cost estimates and budgets for utility projects
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis
- Monitor project costs and carry out site measures and assess progress.
- Review and analyze utility contracts and specifications
- Collaborate with project teams to identify cost-saving measures
- Good knowledge of installation of power specifications to counter claim and dispute measure values with opposing surveyor.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- Proficient in cost control techniques
- Knowledge of construction materials and methods
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in calculations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in using quantity surveying software
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing the costs of ongoing utility projects. Your expertise in cost control and analysis of power installation will contribute to the ongoing running of different utility schemes, keeping them on time and within budgets. You will work closely with project teams, contractors, and clients to ensure that costs are effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication are essential for this role.
