Knowledge and experience of:

  • Correctly pricing a Client Change for submission
  • Evaluation of an application and of variations received from a sub-contractor, negotiations for variation agreement
  • Production of an application for payment to the Client
  • Testing and Commissioning of the Project and the contractual obligations in this regard, project Completion and Handover obligations
  • Key clauses of the Head Contract and the Sub-Contract and how they link together
  • EWN’s and draft Notices of Delay
  • Production of information for Commercial Team for final account negotiations
  • Cost Control and Cash Management
  • Correct production of certificates for payment
  • Produce a “Payless” notice in-line with contract requirements
  • Insurances and what coverage different insurances give, production and issue of insurance claim and input with Loss Adjuster
  • Bonds and warranties and what they mean and what they cover including durations
  • Understand and evaluate entitlements to Extensions of Time / Loss & Expense / Claims and/or disputes relating to outstanding payments to sub-contractors
Responsibilities

In accordance with Multiplex’s policies, systems and procedures, the SQS will continually and critically monitor and manage the commercial aspects of their packages and assist the Package Team in delivering strategies and actions to mitigate commercial risk and protect profit margins. The SQS will also be responsible for accurate and timely submission of commercial information to the Commercial Team to meet project reporting requirements. Furthermore, the SQS will work collaboratively with the Package Team to find, develop and manage the process of risk and opportunities through value engineering, programme logic and procurement decisions amongst other things to enhance package profitability.

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management or equivalent qualification (preferably RICS accredited)
  • Preferably attained or progressing towards RICS or CIOB membership
