JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage and deliver cost and commercial management services for a variety of engineering and construction projects. The successful candidate will have significant experience in quantity surveying and a strong understanding of the engineering consultancy industry. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget, maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in quantity surveying, with a proven track record in engineering consultancy projects.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, procurement methods, and cost management systems.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office and cost management software (e.g., CostX, QS Excel tools).
  • Demonstrable leadership and mentoring capabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all quantity surveying activities on projects from inception to completion.
  • Prepare and manage cost plans, budgets, and forecasts for projects.
  • Oversee procurement processes, including the preparation of tender documents and evaluation of contractor submissions.
  • Provide detailed cost advice and reporting to clients and project teams.
  • Monitor project costs, ensuring adherence to budget and contract terms.
  • Manage contractual disputes and claims, including conducting negotiations with contractors and suppliers.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants to ensure effective communication and project delivery.
  • Mentor and support junior quantity surveyors, ensuring development and training within the team.
  • Assist with business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client presentations.
