Our Department & Cutting-Edge Technology We run a highly sophisticated, completely paperless department integrated via ARIA V15.6. You will have the opportunity to work across Pre-Treatment, Treatment, DXR, and Brachytherapy utilising state of the art equipment: Treatment Delivery: Four TrueBeam 3.0 linear accelerators featuring advanced IGRT imaging (including online 4D CBCT, iCBCT, and triggered imaging). Advanced Motion Management: 6DOF couches for Head & Neck, Upper GI, and Lung SABR, alongside abdominal compression immobilisation. Specialised Equipment: A wide-bore Siemens GO Sim CT scanner, Xstrahl Orthovoltage service, a dedicated Brachytherapy suite, and an established on treatment review service. We currently deliver SABR for lung, node, bone, prostate, and spine, and we are actively working toward rolling out new sites, including adrenal and liver SABR. Job Description Band 6 - £39,959 - £48,117 Hours: 37.5 hours per week Contract: Permanent Pathway 1: Stereotactic Ablative Radiotherapy (SABR) Specialist This pathway is tailored for an ambitious radiographer looking to develop cutting-edge expertise within our high-precision SABR service. You will deepen both your technical and analytical skills across the entire patient pathway. Clinical Excellence: Expand your clinical expertise in delivery and advanced pre-treatment planning/tasks specific to SABR. Service Innovation: Actively contribute to service development, protocol design, and quality improvement frameworks; In particular support the development of adrenal and liver SABR. EP Alignment: Build a robust clinical portfolio mapped directly against the Enhanced Practice capabilities, setting a strong foundation for future advanced roles. Pathway 2: Skin Radiotherapy Specialist This pathway is designed for a senior radiographer passionate about localised, high-impact care within skin radiotherapy. You will develop specialised, autonomous skills in the fastest growing clinical area. Advanced Clinical Skills: Master complex clinical mark-ups and advanced localisation techniques specialised for skin malignancies. Service Innovation: Lead and support quality improvement initiatives to optimise the skin radiotherapy pathway; in particular support the development of a new skin brachytherapy service. EP Alignment: Develop specialised clinical judgement and a structured portfolio aligned with the four pillars of Enhanced Practice. As a senior radiographer you will also be expected to; Undertake radiotherapy treatment and planning, on a rotational basis, using ionising radiation to treat patients with cancer or benign disease, with both curative and palliative intent Carry out radiotherapy procedures using a variety of specialised high energy radiation equipment, operating in conjunction with radiotherapy IT systems and various imaging systems Provide supervision and support to junior staff and students in training Make confident decision-making as the most senior Radiographer in absence of a team leader To participate in the departmental shift and on-call system between the hours of 07:00-20:00, 7 days a week Be accountable for own professional actions and limitations within own scope of practice.
