Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly committed employee for the position of Senior Reconciliation Geologist to join the Mineral Resources Department. Your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Carry out work in compliance to relevant procedures and Zambian regulatory requirements. Lead by example and be the face of reconciliation geology. Responsible for management and preparation of detailed and realistic daily, weekly, monthly and yearly ore delivery schedules. Compile and prepare the production geology monthly report. Mentor and provide training for the ROM pad geology supervisors, reconciliation geologists and ensure that they in turn mentor and train their subordinates. The ore design procedure is being correctly followed, and all data management of ore block data is being managed correctly i.e., ore block details file. QA/QC sample program is adopted, maintained and reporting identifies errors that are duly reported and corrected. Ensure that all HSE policies and strategies are stringently adopted and adhered to and implemented (where required). Ensure Reconciliation geologist and mine geologists are managing Hexagon’s data (to & from) and reporting daily material movements and updating daily, the production graphs. Monitor ore movements from different mining areas (e.g., pits, stockpiles, ROM pads) to ensure the correct blend of ore types is delivered to the mill. Interface with the mine planners, mine operations, mine supervisors and metallurgical engineers in order to optimize the profitable delivery of the mine plan. To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements: Full Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate Minimum Degree in Geology Minimum 5 years’ experience in mining geology associated with large open cut mines. Good planning and organizational skills Experience in supervising production / ore control teams, ROM pad management, development and execution Proficiency in standard mining software (e.g., Vulcan, Datamine, Micromine) and database applications (e.g., AcQuire, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Office Suite) is necessary.
