Description DUTIES: We seek a Senior Regulations and Compliance Engineer based out of our office at 4554 Glenmeade Lane, Auburn Hills, MI 48326. Note, this position does not require travel. Provide internal support for engine / vehicle emissions testing requests for regulatory information from FEV engineers working on various emissions related projects. Create calibration reports of the instruments and analyzers present in the test cell and check compliance with regulations used for corresponding emissions tests, which includes generating written reports that support test results. Develop new ideas, concepts, and approaches for new emissions projects and ensure appropriate documentation is available, which includes analyzing and documenting existing processes and workflows; understanding and improving existing processes and workflows; and establishing a database containing documentation and work instructions. Stay abreast of proposed regulation changes, understanding rulemaking processes and communicate proposed regulation changes, which includes reviewing, understanding, and interpreting code of federal regulation text, as well as, summarizing and interpreting legal documentation. Collaborate with project teams to determine requirements and develop certification plans for new and existing projects, which includes presenting in public forums. Requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related engineering discipline and 24 months of experience in job offered or related position. Required experience must include: Experience understanding and interpreting engine and vehicle data; Experience understanding and using regulatory framework to correlate data and requirements; Experience understanding and distinguishing between criteria pollutants and their formation mechanisms; Experience understanding and applying thermodynamic fundamentals of combustion engine operation; Experience understanding and applying calibration requirements for measurement equipment WORK LOCATION: Auburn Hills, Michigan.
