We are looking for a skilled and collaborative Senior Regulatory Analyst to help design and deliver Watercare’s regulatory disclosures, performance analysis, and core regulatory processes. This is a unique opportunity to influence a once‑in‑a‑generation regulatory shift, working at the intersection of data, policy, strategy and sector change. Job Description He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role As Senior Regulatory Analyst, you will play a key role in developing the methodologies, frameworks, and processes that underpin Watercare’s regulatory reporting — including Information Disclosure and other compliance requirements. Working closely with teams across the business, you will ensure Watercare provides high‑quality evidence, rigorous analysis, and credible regulatory submissions. You will build repeatable, efficient processes for data collection and analysis, support price‑quality and service‑quality analysis, and provide expert advice on regulatory obligations and performance risks. You’ll also help uplift regulatory understanding across the organisation and support the development of junior team members. What You’ll Be Doing Lead analysis and contribute to the development of regulatory disclosures, frameworks and methodologies Deliver high‑quality, defensible evidence for regulatory reporting and submissions Engage with reviewers and stakeholders to ensure quality standards are met Build efficient, repeatable processes for data collection, analysis and information management Analyse current and future performance against financial, service, and regulatory measures Assess risks and opportunities and support teams to manage compliance Provide expert advice on regulatory rules, obligations and performance implications Champion economic regulation and help build organisational capability Mentor junior staff and support the growth of the Economic Regulation team Ngā pūkenga e rapu nei mātou | About you You will bring strong analytical capability, sound judgement, and the ability to engage confidently across technical, operational and senior‑leadership audiences.
