We live by our REAL values – Respect, Energy & Effort, Attitude, Leadership – and we demonstrate these through the good work we do, every day, as one team. The Wellington Transport Alliance (WTA) is a partnership between Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, Fulton Hogan and WSP. The WTA is responsible for managing the maintenance and operations programme for the state highways and roading networks of the Greater Wellington Region, and for delivering high service standards to the people and roading network of the region. This role supports the Alliance by ensuring all works meet environmental, planning and regulatory requirements. You’ll help us maintain strong relationships with councils, Iwi, DOC and other key partners while guiding our teams and contractors through the consents, approvals, and condition compliance. In this position, you’ll manage global consents, assess upcoming activities, secure the necessary permits and consents, and provide expert regulatory advice from early design through to delivery. You’ll also help monitor compliance, manage consent conditions, and coordinate specialist inputs across ecology, heritage, noise and water quality when required. You will also be involved in capital project handovers in the Wellington region. This role is ideal for someone with planning or resource management experience who enjoys working across a wide range of project types and collaborating with both internal teams and external agencies. If you’re keen to support WTA in achieving high-quality, compliant and environmentally sound outcomes, we’d love to hear from you. In addition to the above you will: Tertiary qualification in planning or a related discipline. Full Membership (or working towards) of NZPI. Full current class 1 driver’s licence Good Work equals Good Benefits KiwiSaver employer contributions Fuel discount card Parental leave top-up payment with additional return to work support Family scholarships Ongoing training and development, career growth and progression opportunities Great discounts at a wide range of retailers Medical insurance Creating, Connecting and caring for the community Our people regularly donate their time to local causes and initiatives, while at a regional and national level we provide financial support, skills and resources to a wide range of organisations that are strengthening our communities. Our focus aims to also reduce our impact on the environment, and regenerate healthy new ecosystems. We look to partner with others to lift the standards of our industry and show customers lower-impact, sustainable ways of delivering infrastructure. All successful candidates must under-go and pass a pre-employment medical and drug screen. We celebrate and embrace diversity across our business and are committed to equal employment opportunities. We believe in the value that diversity brings to our team and people who share our REAL values are encouraged to apply. We are driven by fresh ideas and opportunities. We aim to do more and do better – for our people, our communities and the countries that we work in. As an employer, we know this relationship is a two-way street. We’re always looking for people who are passionate about the work they do. If that’s you, we’d like to invite you to become part of our family and join us in the good work we do.
