Kia ora! We’re looking for a Senior Regulatory Reporting Manager to join our awesome team based in Newmarket on a 9 month contract. Is this your next role? Reporting to the Group Treasurer, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of all regulatory returns and compliance reporting for Heartland Bank Limited (HBL). You will also lead the day-to-day management of the Regulatory Reporting team, ensuring the operational delivery of regulatory returns that are accurate, complete and fully compliant with HBL’s regulatory obligations within Finance. This includes responsibility for all returns submitted to the Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) for HBL’s New Zealand Banking Group (NZBG) and Banking Group regulatory lenses (which includes our Australian Bank), including the accurate calculation of risk-weighted exposures and regulatory capital for both views. Does this sound like you? You are an experienced people leader within a regulatory reporting environment who thrives in a fast-paced setting. You bring strong judgement, the ability to work independently, and a talent for translating complex regulatory requirements into clear and practical insights for non-specialist audiences. You will bring: Significant experience in regulatory reporting within the banking industry, with exposure to RBNZ frameworks (APRA is a bonus) A strong understanding of Basel-based capital adequacy frameworks, including the standardised approach to risk-weighted assets under the RBNZ’s Banking Prudential Requirements Strong technical and analytical capability, with proven experience preparing and reviewing regulatory returns A solid understanding of banking data flows, including how product and transaction data is sourced, transformed and applied in regulatory calculations Experience working across teams and functions within a regulated financial institution to deliver accurate and timely compliance outcomes Experience leading or supervising a team within a finance or regulatory reporting function Ability to navigate manual processes whilst ensuring high attention to detail and control. A tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or a related discipline With experience leading a team in a regulatory reporting function, you’re a top communicator who enjoys a fast paced environment. With the ability to translate technical regulatory concepts for non-specialist audiences, you operate with a high degree of independence and sound judgement.
