Description Position: Senior Relationship Manager Reports to: Executive President or Sr. Relationship Manager/Team Lead Supervises: Portfolio Managers, Client Service Assistants, and/or other staff as needed Department: Lending FLSA Status: Salaried Exempt – Administrative General Function: Develop new business and cultivate client relationships to provide products and services, both consumer and commercial. Maintain and service an existing portfolio of bank clients, serving as their primary contact for bank business. Facilitate, structure, and close loans. Represent the Bank in local community through active participation in community affairs and participate in marketing all of the Bank’s products and services. Essential Functions: Products and Service A. Seek out prospective new clients, both individual consumer and commercial, through leads, cold-calling, previous relationships, events, and other appropriate means. B. Serve as the primary relationship contact for clients and strive to offer extraordinary customer service by assisting with a variety of products and services, depending on each individual client situation. C. Assist clients as necessary with banking business (e.g. order new checks, replace lost debit cards, transfer money, research transaction errors, counsel clients on the use of online banking or bill pay, advise clients on budgeting and balancing their accounts, etc.) D. Listen to clients and match the best Bank products to their needs, including personal and business deposit accounts, treasury management services, consumer loans and lines of credit (HELOC), residential mortgage loans, small to medium size business term loans and lines of credit, consumer and business credit cards, merchant services and occasionally larger real estate loans, as well as other products that are appropriate. 2.Productivity A. Goals will be set periodically with emphasis on loan and deposit production, fee income, and other appropriate factors. Make goals and assist team when possible. B. Be aware of own book of business, economic conditions, rates, and other factors that affect productivity, and communicate with management about trends, concerns, successes, and other factors that affect the production of the team. 3. Loans A. Sell MCB and partner loans to clients and convert loan-only customers into long-term banking clients, with multiple services per household. B. Establish and negotiate, where necessary, the terms under which credit will be extended, including the cost, repayment method and schedule, and collateral requirements. C. Interview loan applicants, collect, and review financial and related data to determine the general credit worthiness of the prospect and the specific merits of the loan request D. Analyze financial data and cash flow for loan requests submitted by clients E. Monitor loan repayment activities and take necessary action to collect from past due accounts. F. Work to correct and clear any loan file exception or deficiencies promptly. 4. Compliance A. Diligently protect confidential information, and assist the Bank in ensuring that all confidential and sensitive information is handled appropriately. B. Maintain an active awareness and understanding of policies, procedures, designated authorities, regulations, and laws, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering Act, etc. Follow these at all times. C. Communicate openly with supervisors and other management about policies, procedures, work conduct, and job functions. Ask questions to clarify any uncertainty in issues. D. Address and report suspected violations of policy, procedure, Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering Act, and other laws and guidelines, as outlined in the Code of Conduct. Reported information will be kept confidential. E. Participate in training sessions and policy updates as necessary. Assist with coordination of scheduling as appropriate. 5. Other A. Ability to work scheduled and other needed hours at the designated location(s) B. Monitor activity of Client Service Assistants and provide necessary management, guidance, and assistance. C. All Team Members should provide consistently positive, effective, helpful service to all customers, both internal and external. D. Assist other managers or Team Members as needed. E. Management or Bank policy may revise, delete, or add responsibility as necessary. 6. Activity A. Ability to work scheduled and other needed hours at the designated location(s) B. Ability to operate office equipment, telephones, and computers C. Ability to communicate fluently in English, in person, in writing, and on the computer D. Ability to present information to groups in an understandable format or fashion Requirements Qualification Requirements: Four-year degree or equivalent experience as a Relationship Manager, lender, retail banker, or other related position 8-10 years of consumer and/or commercial lending; management of a portfolio of business Proven sales and business development skills Extensive experience in various aspects of lending (such as consumer and commercial) or formal commercial credit training Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Ability to multi-task and prioritize Computer proficiency in MS Windows, Word, Excel, e-mail Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, or related business field Extensive experience in different areas of banking, lending, and/or relationship management Management experience Mountain Commerce Bank is an Equal Opportunity Employer
