Description

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer for an innovation-driven maker of specialty pharmaceuticals for critical conditions located in Raleigh, North Carolina (NC). The Senior Reliability Engineer will be responsible for overseeing maintenance and reliability of rotating equipment by driving data-based strategies, technical support, and compliance. This position will work approximately 60% in the plant and 40% in the office located in Raleigh, NC.

Responsibilities of the Senior Reliability Engineer:

  • Coordinate and schedule maintenance activities to ensure timely and effective equipment servicing.
  • Analyze equipment performance data (e.g., MTTF, MTBF, downtime) to optimize preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Support root cause failure analysis and develop engineering solutions to reduce recurrence and improve reliability.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including repair procedures, spare parts lists, and equipment histories.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on capital projects, reliability design, and contractor management for repairs and refurbishments.
  • Contribute to training, compliance, and safety efforts by identifying skill gaps, ensuring regulatory adherence, and participating in housekeeping initiatives.

Qualifications for the Senior Reliability Engineer:

  • B.S. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Skilled in mechanical troubleshooting, failure analysis, and using CMMS (preferably Maximo).
  • CMRP certification preferred; proficient in Microsoft Office and CAD.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and understanding of PSM standards.
