SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

As an integral part of the Repairify diagnostic team, based in the Peterlee office, the Senior Remote Technician will be responsible for remotely diagnosing issues, calibrating systems, programming new modules, and recommending repairs for collision-damaged vehicles. This role involves close collaboration with repair professionals to conduct diagnostic scans and support the repair process using Repairify technology. Technicians utilise OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) scan tools, workshop manuals, and resources to ensure accurate diagnostics and high-quality vehicle repairs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two years car dealership experience OR experience in an aftermarket repair facility as an Automotive Technician
  • OEM scan tool and/or aftermarket scan tool experience and knowledge
  • Proficient in identification of vehicle faults codes, error messages and modules
  • Strong automotive mechanical and electrical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience
  • Must have company designated certifications or obtain within 6 months: IMI AOM230, IMI Level 2&3 in electric/hybrid vehicle maintenance
  • A current, valid driver’s license
  • Experience working on ADAS systems is an advantage
  • Basic computer skills and understanding of Microsoft Office and web application software

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • New car dealership experience is considered a plus
  • Ability to use and navigate workshop manuals affectively
  • Experience in using OEM software for calibrations, adaptations and reprogramming
  • Self-motivated, high energy and a customer-focused perspective
  • In depth understanding of automotive industry and various manufacturer acronyms and jargon
  • Customer service centric
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Act as a primary point contact for Repairify customers and fellow technicians
  • Adequately explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to mechanical individuals which may include employees, clients on a daily and consistent basis.
  • Triage customer jobs and calls to ensure timely response and resolution of queries
  • Proficient in identification of vehicle faults, error messages, module corrections, etc.
  • Perform all necessary diagnostic scans.
  • Quickly learn how to evaluate information and data and provide comprehensive interpretation of technical information.
  • Drive customer service by ensuring a positive experience and providing accurate information.
  • Collaboration with team members to develop customer and internal solutions.
  • Continuously learn new technical information/techniques to stay well-informed with rapidly changing automotive technology.
  • Assist fellow technicians in performing technical evaluations, in the Peterlee office and mobile locations.
  • Flexibility is a must as change will be constant – i.e. shifts, overtime, weekends.
  • Advise management team of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
  • Adhere to all company policy, procedure, processses, safety and environmental rules.
