Description

Are you an experienced Senior Report Developer with strong expertise in Power BI and SQL to join a dynamic business intelligence team. You will play a critical role in gathering requirements, designing, developing, and optimizing reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to support key program areas. The role requires collaboration with project managers and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality, accessible BI solutions that meet evolving organizational needs.
Our client is looking for a Senior Report Developer for this hybrid contract position of 8 months that allows flexibility with a mix of remote work and on-site presence in Toronto.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must Have:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Paginated Report Builder
  • At least 4 years’ experience writing SQL queries (T-SQL, PL-SQL) for data manipulation and reporting
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience programming with DAX in Power BI
  • At least 2 years working with ETL tools such as Microsoft Azure Data Factory, Databricks, IBM InfoSphere DataStage, and strong data modeling skills

Nice to Have:
Experience with cloud platforms like Azure Synapse
Familiarity with data governance and accessibility standards
Collaborative experience within Agile teams
Strong documentation and presentation skills
️ Experience with Oracle or other relational databases

Responsibilities
  • Participate in requirements gathering and translate business needs into effective BI solutions
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Power BI Desktop and Paginated Report Builder
  • Design and build ETL/data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and IBM InfoSphere DataStage
  • Write and troubleshoot complex SQL queries (T-SQL, PL-SQL) for data extraction and transformation
  • Implement DAX calculations and optimize data models within Power BI for performance and accuracy
  • Ensure BI solutions comply with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1 Level AA)
  • Perform quality assurance, troubleshooting, and issue resolution before report release
  • Prepare documentation, including knowledge transfer materials and technical specifications
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and support migration and deployment activities
