WHAT WE DO

The Victorian Auditor-General’s Office (VAGO) is part of Victoria’s integrity system. We conduct audits and reviews to ensure that public sector entities are transparent and accountable to the Victorian Parliament and the communities they serve.
The Parliamentary Reports and Services Division of VAGO conducts audits and reviews of public sector entities for and on behalf of Parliament. Our people are committed to informing Parliament and the community about the performance of the public sector and how to improve public services.
There are around 70 staff in the Division, bringing together the areas of strategic audit planning, performance audit, data science, and communications and publishing. This role would fall within the Impact, Planning and Data ranch, which supports and creates impact by bringing together the areas of strategic audit planning, performance audit, data science, and communications and publishing.

As our ideal candidate you will have several years of experience working with data. You will:

  • design and maintain robust data pipelines
  • build intuitive dashboards
  • develop analytical infrastructure to drive impactful public reporting
  • collaborate closely with data scientists and auditors
  • shape data workflows and transform raw data into compelling stories
  • engage regularly with stakeholders across the organisation, helping them make their data talk to parliament and the Victorian public
  • create scalable solutions that enhance VAGO’s impact
