REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Requires minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Additional 4 years of experience maybe accepted in lieu of the degree
  • Must be a Certified Scrum Master
  • Proven ability to elicit requirements using interviews, workshops, surveys, and document analysis
  • Strong understanding of requirement management tools (e.g., DOORS Next Generation (DNG), JIRA, Confluence) and Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM)
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR) with at least three consecutive years of U.S. residency from the date of legal entry as an LPR
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required MBI clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certification in Business Analysis or Requirements Engineering (e.g., CBAP, IREB, PMI-PBA)
  • Experience working on large-scale enterprise IT projects
  • Knowledge of modeling techniques (UML, BPMN, SysML)
  • Active MBI Clearance
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Peraton is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Requirements Engineer to support requirements gathering, analysis, and administration of complex projects. This individual will have a strong foundation in eliciting, documenting, and validating requirements and will work closely with stakeholders, data engineers, solution engineers, and project managers to ensure solutions meet business needs. This role requires both technical understanding and strong communication skills to bridge business objectives with system design.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Elicit, analyze, and document business, functional, and technical requirements from stakeholders to support overall modernization efforts and legacy system retirement
  • Translate business needs into clear and actionable system requirements
  • Develop and maintain requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure requirements are complete, consistent, testable, and align with business goals
  • Support system design and development teams by clarifying requirements and addressing gaps
  • Contribute to development of use cases, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both business and technical stakeholders
  • Support change management by analyzing impacts of requirements modifications
  • Provide documentation, reports, and status updates as required
  • Validate and provide requirements content, such as Epics and User Stories, to the technical artifacts such as the Vision, Scope & Architecture (VSA) documentation
  • Monitor and track team performance metrics (velocity, burndown charts, etc.) to provide insights into the team’s progress and identify areas for improvement
