Description SEIU 199NW has an excellent opportunity for the right individual to join our Research Team. Carry out all aspects of strategic research including compiling, analyzing, summarizing, and presenting information on industries, companies, individuals, and issues in support of the union’s program. Develop presentations to outline and define your research outcomes and findings that meet the needs of a variety of audiences Respond to research requests from the Assistant Research Director Collaborate with union staff and members Develop and implement a weekly work plan; Ensure both short-term and long-term deadlines are met Learn and develop new skills Perform other duties as required to support the union and its mission Requirements strong commitment to and embodiment of racial, social and economic justice understanding of power and how it works in our society, politics, and economy understanding of unionization, collective bargaining, and of the role of organized labor in the workplace and in the industry financial and public policy analysis skills strong writing and presentation skills ability to work as part of a team, share leadership, share credit and collaborate ability to both manage complexity and simplify challenging problems willingness to work long and irregular hours as needed proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint 3-5 years’ experience as a strategic researcher
