Senior Research Assistant, Department of Medicine Entity: Aga Khan University Location: Chitral, Pakistan Introduction: Aga Khan University, chartered in 1983 as Pakistan's first private international university, is committed to the provision of education, research and health care of international standard relevant to Pakistan and the region. The affiliated Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) has well-equipped investigative services and provides state-of-the-art clinical facilities. AKUH is the first hospital in Pakistan to be awarded the prestigious Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) for practicing the highest internationally-recognized healthcare standards. The Aga Khan University is seeking a Senior Research Assistant to support this community-based digital health research project. The role involves fieldwork at primary health care centres and close coordination with local health staff and study participants in Gilgit. This is a short-term contractual position for two different sites in Brep and Garam Chashma. Responsibilities: You will be responsible to: · Conduct community outreach and identify eligible study participants. · Obtain informed consent and ensure ethical research practices. · Administer structured questionnaires using tablets and mobile health applications. · Measure basic health indicators (e.g., blood pressure, weight, height, waist circumference). · Assist participants with installation and use of the mobile health application. · Maintain accurate and confidential records; ensure timely data entry. · Report daily progress and field challenges to the Principal Investigator. · Coordinate referrals to digital health clinics as needed. · Ensure proper upkeep of study equipment and materials. · Participate in training sessions, team meetings, and quality assurance activities. · Prepare and present periodic activity reports. · Report equipment malfunctions or issues promptly. Requirements: You should have: Diploma in Lady Health Work and/or Community Midwifery. Minimum Intermediate qualification. Familiarity with field research projects in the local context. Preferably at least 12 months of research experience. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Strong team player with a collaborative and solution-oriented mindset. Basic research knowledge and excellent interpersonal communication. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Comfortable using Android devices and digital data collection tools (e.g., REDCap, KoboCollect). Comprehensive employment reference checks will be conducted.
