Queensland Centre for Mental Health Research (QCMHR) within School of Public Health Full-time (100%), fixed-term position through until end of September 2026 Base salary will be in the range $93,491.78 - $100,296.98 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 6) Based at The Park Centre for Mental Health in Wacol About This Opportunity We’re seeking a talented Research Assistant to join our Epidemiology and Global Burden of Disease Research Stream. In this pivotal role, you’ll contribute to impactful research that shapes global health understanding—supporting projects from design through to analysis and publication. You’ll apply your technical and analytical expertise to deliver high-quality research outcomes in a dynamic, collaborative team. Key responsibilities will include: Conducts advanced research and applies specialist technical and analytical skills. Designs and implements research and analytical protocols in line with discipline standards. Maintains accurate records, documentation, and comprehensive procedural instructions. Ensures compliance with ethics, safety, and continuous improvement practices. Contributes to high-quality research outputs, including reports and publications. Provides leadership, supervision, and mentorship to junior researchers and technicians. Strong research knowledge and technical skills, including conducting systematic reviews and applying established analytical methodologies. Proven ability to design, evaluate, and synthesise research with advanced understanding of epidemiological, mental health, and public health principles. Skilled in data extraction, summarisation, and statistical analysis, with capacity to learn and apply new methods quickly. Excellent problem-solving, planning, and organisational skills with adaptability to meet competing deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills, producing clear, well-structured research outputs and documentation. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, liaising effectively with diverse research stakeholders. Commitment to research integrity, compliance with ethics and safety standards, and an interest in mentoring or training junior staff and students.
