The Department of Radiology is the Co-Lead in the recently launched IHR-funded EDITH trial (’Early Detection using Information Technology in Health’). The £11m trial is part of the Government’s Plan for Change to shape a new plan to cut lives lost to cancer. Nearly 660,000 women across the UK will take part in this world-leading trial. Researchers will evaluate how AI tools can enhance early detection of breast cancer during routine NHS breast cancer screenings.
We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Imaging Data Specialist with a strong academic background and experience working with the NHS. The ideal candidate will have expertise in conducting AI evaluations in healthcare, managing medical imaging workflows, facilitating the secure transfer of imaging data across different NHS Trusts, collaborating with industry partners and developing AI.
Appointment at Senior Research Associate level is dependent on significant experience as a postdoctoral research associate or equivalent, with proven impact from authored publications.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 30 June 2029 in the first instance.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment. This appointment also requires a Research Passport application.
