The Conference Board of Canada (CBoC) is the nation’s largest independent applied research organization offering unbiased, evidence-based information and analysis to both industry, NGOs and federal/provincial governments. We are seeking a Senior Research Associate to join our Human Capital team for a 12-month contract. The successful candidate will be part of a professional research team and will lead research projects related to workplace mental health, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), and human resources (HR).
Our ideal candidate is… a skilled researcher with strong writing and data analysis abilities, ready to lead and support HR-related research projects of varying size and complexity. In this role, you will be responsible for project management, analyzing qualitative and quantitative datasets, authoring high-impact research reports, supporting our HR councils, and coaching junior researchers.
The successful candidate is passionate about using data to tell forward-thinking, impactful stories, anticipates and solves problems independently, and brings a creative lens to research design and execution. They will play a key role in shaping research initiatives, translating findings into actionable insights, and driving meaningful change in workplace practices.
We are a virtual organization and as a remote worker you must be comfortable and able to work 100 per cent of the time from a home office in Canada. To be successful as a remote worker you need to have a self-starter attitude, possess strong organizational and time management skills and be a proactive communicator. Having a home office environment that provides for a productive, professional, and safe work environment during regular working/business hours is a requirement of this role.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s or doctoral degree in organizational behavior, organizational psychology, human resources (HR) management, the humanities, social sciences, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of applied research experience, with demonstrated leadership in managing complex research projects.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the HR, employee wellbeing and/or DEI-related issues facing Canadian organizations.
- Expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies including surveys, literature reviews, interviews, focus groups, and case studies.
- Proficiency with SPSS or R for quantitative analysis and NVivo for qualitative analysis.
- Strong ability to write clearly and concisely, with minimal editing required; a portfolio of published work is an asset.
- Proven project management skills, including establishing goals, priorities, and deadlines.
- Solid understanding of financial concepts, with experience creating and managing project budgets.
- Exceptional organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Bilingualism would be an asset.
- Ability to travel within Canada to attend in-person conferences and/or network meetings.
- Having a home office environment that provides for a productive, professional, and safe work environment during regular working hours is a requirement of this role.

The salary for this position ranges from $80,793 to $109,308 annually for candidates from any Canadian province or territory. Salaries are based upon candidate experience, qualifications, specific skillsets, as well as market and business considerations.
