YOU SHOULD APPLY IF
You should apply if you have a statistical / epidemiology background in applied public health research. You will need experience in the management and analysis of large cross-sectional and/or longitudinal human population datasets. Analysis will be conducted in R (preferred) or Stata. You will need to have experience of applying advanced statistical methods, including mixed effect models, to modelling studies and evaluations. You will also need to demonstrate a proven ability to disseminate findings via peer-reviewed publications, and other dissemination routes
THE ROLE
We are seeking to recruit a Senior Research Associate in Statistics/Epidemiology to conduct analyses of Public Health Improvement Projects in the Centre for Public Health and the Diet and Physical Activity theme in the Bristol Biomedical Research Centre. A number of these projects focus on physical activity and/or active travel or diet but the successful candidate will be expected to work across a range of projects. Study designs will include natural experiments, trials (stepped wedge and randomised controlled trials) plus epidemiological analyses.
Interviews will take place on Friday 9th of May 2025.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
The main task is designing and conducting the statistical analyses for the projects including developing protocols for analyses. The Senior Research Associate will be expected to work on their own initiative, seeking guidance and advice where necessary from the wider team.
