The Senior Research Data Scientist is responsible for leading the design and development of advanced analytical models that combine mechanistic modelling and AI/ML techniques. Your work will enable smarter bioprocess control, predictive insights, and optimization strategies, accelerating the development of life-saving therapeutics. This position reports to the Senior Manager - Research and is part of the Central Technology Organization (CTO) R&D department located in Bangalore and will be an on-site role. What You Will Do Build hybrid models combining mechanistic and AI/ML techniques to accurately simulate and predict process behaviour. Analyze complex spectral datasets (NIR, Raman, UV-Vis) for real-time monitoring and PAT applications. Develop chemometric models and multivariate analysis techniques for process insights. Apply advanced machine learning techniques for predictive analytics, anomaly detection, and optimization. Work closely with scientists, engineers, and product teams to translate ideas into impactful solutions. Explore emerging technologies in AI, digital twins, and hybrid modelling for bioprocessing. Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines and maintain robust documentation for models and algorithms. Who You Are Master’s or Ph.D. in Data Science, Chemical Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field. 8+ years in data science with a focus on bioprocess modelling and analytics with proven experience in hybrid modelling and spectral data analysis. Strong proficiency in Python, R, or similar tools for modelling and data analysis. Experience with spectral data analysis and chemometrics (PCA, PLS, multivariate regression). Preferred: Experience in bioprocessing or life sciences instrumentation. Active contributor to the field through scientific publications. Join our winning team today.
