UCL Department of Chemical Engineering is one of the top research and teaching departments in the UK and has world-class standing. The department offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and has an extensive research portfolio across a wealth of areas, from molecular scale to complex systems.
We are recruiting a Senior Research Finance Officer to join the departmental Professional Services Team, to provide project and administrative support for the Research Group(s) in the Department. The post holder will develop and implement strategies to enhance the research community and provide high-level administrative support for research staff. We require the candidate to oversee research grant and project funding administration processes and provide consistent advice to relevant stakeholders according to UCL policies and procedures and best practices. The post will be available for 12 months in the first instance, and is available as a secondment.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The role involves coordinating research grant applications and managing project funding, ensuring compliance with sponsor guidelines and timely budget setup. It includes monitoring and advising on expenditure, and supporting post-award processes. The position also oversees postgraduate research (PGR) finances, including supporting costings, tracking budgets and processing payments. Additionally, the role supports research communication by disseminating funding opportunities and calls, and promoting departmental research through various media to enhance collaboration and visibility.
This is a fixed term role until 30th June 2026 in the first instance.
Salary is £43,374 - £51,860 per annum inclusive of London allowance.
