Key responsibilities

  • Design, plan, and conduct independent research projects focused on regenerative epigenetics, including molecular biology and cellular experimentation
  • Perform advanced laboratory techniques including epigenetic profiling, gene expression analysis, and cellular characterisation using contemporary research methodologies
  • Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory records, data analysis, and experimental documentation in accordance with research standards and regulatory requirements
  • Analyse and interpret experimental data using bioinformatics tools and statistical methods to generate meaningful scientific insights
  • Prepare and contribute to the writing of peer-reviewed publications and research grant applications
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams, including biologists, clinicians, and computational researchers, to advance project objectives
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols, animal ethics guidelines, and institutional research regulations
  • Mentor and support junior research staff and students as required, providing guidance on laboratory techniques and research methodologies
  • Present research findings at internal seminars, conferences, and to external collaborators

What we're looking for

  • A doctoral degree (PhD) in Molecular Biology, Biomedical Science, Biochemistry, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent research experience plus four years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in epigenetic research techniques, including DNA methylation analysis, histone modification studies, or chromatin biology
  • Substantial experience with molecular biology laboratory methods such as gene expression analysis, cell culture techniques, and protein characterisation
  • Proficiency in data analysis and bioinformatics, with competency in relevant software tools and statistical methods
  • Strong track record of research achievement evidenced by peer-reviewed publications in reputable scientific journals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex scientific concepts
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively to collaborative research teams
  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to high standards of scientific rigour and laboratory practice
  • Experience in cardiovascular research, diabetes research, or regenerative medicine is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with grant writing and research funding processes would be advantageous
