The Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University seeks a Senior Research Scientist for the department of Pharmacology and Toxicology. The Senior Research Scientist will work independently under the direction of Dr. Amal Khalil Kaddoumi and will be expected to conduct cutting-edge research in the fields of neuronal pathways that are involved in the memory dysfunction associated with neurologic and psychiatric illnesses and exposures to environmental toxins, including engaging in collaborative projects. This position does not meet the requirements to be on a tenure track.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

PhD in Biomedical Sciences or related field with 8 or more years research experience.

Responsibilities

Train the postdocs, students and technical staff; will carry out research projects independently; design and execute research experiments, perform data analysis, write manuscripts and publish results. The Senior Scientist also has an opportunity to apply for intramural and extramural grants and proper support is provided. Other duties as assigned.
