JOB SUMMARY:
This position will support data analysis and computational studies by research faculty of SUNY Upstate Medical University. Operational needs include: - Collect non-processed genomic data from in-house experiments by Upstate investigators - Process data as needed for analysis, including standardized procedures for normalization and filtering - Analyze datasets to perform comparisons, differential analysis, and data grouping as needed - Establish SOPs and standard methods for data curation and analysis - Summarize results of data analysis - Format results for use in grant applications and scientific publications.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
PhD degree and at least 2 years of research experience, both in a biomedical field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Familiarity with statistical methods and data analysis programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and packages (e.g., SPSS, MatLab). Knowledge of advanced statistical methods for quality control. Understanding of pipelining methods and reproducibility/standardization strategies for the analysis of large genomic and proteomic datasets. Proficiency in the analysis of RNA-Seq, ATACseq, ChIPseq, CUT&RUN and other omic datasets. Familiarity with databases, including data access and download, data submission, management and curation.
