This rare leadership opportunity will be pivotal in the success of the CRDC and the planned delivery of studies across the region using a hub and spoke model. The Newcastle CRDC will facilitate research delivery in the hub at the Royal Victoria Infirmary Research Unit and also into the spokes which include both primary and secondary care site partners spanning the full geography of the North East and North Cumbria. The CRDC will identify and prioritise research that can be delivered via this model with the ambition of creating a team that can collaborate to provide an agile service that enables participants to take part in research in the place that is most appropriate for them.The research delivered will be diverse and will focus upon most major medical and surgical specialties. There will be a special focus on research into treatments for chronic conditions that affect our regional population such as obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and respiratory disease.
In addition, it is expected that the CRDC will work with companies developing medical devices and diagnostics. Applications are welcomed from a registered adult nurse or registered health care professional who has previous post registration experience working at a senior level across a broad range of specialty areas and/or the clinical research delivery landscape.
