Description KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Independently performs a wide range of highly technical and complex research and laboratory tests and procedures. Devises highly specialized research procedures by applying a knowledge of advanced research techniques and equipment. Provides input to protocol development. ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS: This position entails conducting independent experiments and projects under the guidance of a supervisor. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in mammalian cell culture, RT-PCR, and molecular biology techniques. Familiarity with high-throughput antiviral screening and assay development is a plus. Candidates with prior experience in BSL2 enhanced labs are highly preferred. This position is also responsible for maintaining the labs compound management database. Additional responsibilities include general laboratory maintenance, such as restocking supplies, sterilization, media preparation, freezer upkeep, organization, and temperature monitoring. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in a scientific field and four years of research experience, OR equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Highly proficient in BSL2+ laboratory techniques and safety procedures. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of laboratory information management systems Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word, and cloud sharing platforms. Responsibilities

The Senior Research Specialist independently performs complex research and laboratory tests, devises specialized research procedures, and serves as a technical resource for other personnel. Responsibilities also include analyzing study results, training staff, and overseeing quality assurance of research.
