What you’ll contribute to
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Research Specialist, to join our National Marketing division in a Max Term role until 4th September 2026.
The National Marketing Division is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all national marketing activities, including brand management, internal and external communications, digital marketing, public relations, and guest relationship management. Its goal is to position Toyota as the preferred brand for guests throughout the entire product lifecycle and beyond, while supporting the achievement of sales volume, market share, and profitability targets.
The Senior Research Specialist is responsible for overseeing consumer research studies, generating strategic insights and recommendations to support business decision-making, and leading customer research initiatives via internal platforms or in collaboration with key external insight partners. This role plays a critical part in shaping long-term marketing and product volume strategies, contributing to TMCA’s brand goals, sales volume, and profitability targets, while also providing valuable intelligence to support other divisions in their decision-making processes.
This position is based in Port Melbourne with flexible work arrangements available.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Responsible for managing both ad-hoc and ongoing consumer research studies, such as brand tracking, advertising effectiveness, business performance, pricing, and product and offer optimization. This includes developing agency briefs, contributing to the design of qualitative and quantitative research tools, overseeing key project timelines, and preparing comprehensive insight reports to share findings across various departments and stakeholder groups.
  • Develop strategic insights and recommendations by analyzing multiple data sources to address emerging business questions. This may involve using analytical platforms such as Q and SPSS to synthesize data. The role also includes responding to ad-hoc requests from various areas of the business to support timely and informed decision-making.
  • Maintain and manage internal knowledge platforms and PowerBI dashboards to enhance accessibility and drive utilization of key research studies, ensuring insights are readily available across the business.
  • Lead and manage customer research activities within a community panel platform, including questionnaire development and programming, as well as the creation of insight reports.

Your attributes – if you’ve got one or more, we’d love to hear from you!

  • Tertiary qualification in business, marketing, insights, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong background and experience in qualitative and quantitative research in a similar role.
  • Solid understanding of market research principles and methodologies, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Proven ability to oversee and execute large-scale research initiatives, such as brand studies, Voice of the Customer (VoC) programs, and syndicated research projects.
