ADVANCED SKILLS PATHWAY

  • Available for ACRRM and RACGP Registrars undertaking a Fellowship in Advanced Rural General Practice (FARGP) qualification.
  • Comprises 12 months advanced specialised training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Anaesthesia, Paediatrics, Adult Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine or Surgery (24 months for ACRRM).
Responsibilities

Provide first-line medical care to patients presenting to the Hospital, including assessment, investigation, treatment and referral for ongoing non-inpatient care or, on consultation with consultant specialists, admission/transfer for inpatient care and discharge of patients. In accepting this position you agree to support core NSW public sector values of cultural diversity, equity and ethical practice, and a healthy, safe and fair workplace” and by addressing these core values in training courses and the induction process.

  • MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a supervised environment
  • Adept ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team with an understanding of the roles of the doctor and other members of the healthcare team
  • Adept written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, family members and others members of the health care team
  • Adept good organisational and time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to self-education
